Early Childhood Center/Holy Angels

Dear Parents,
The holiday season is upon us and K.R. is busy, busy, busy. November 30th is the first Sunday of Advent, a time of waiting, preparing and sharing our love. The children have made an Advent wreath of helping hands in our room. We have talked about helping others during this season in preparing for the birthday of Jesus, and various ways we can do this, not only in the classroom but at home too.
When a child helps someone, they will put a star on their hand. By the end of December, our wreath will look beautiful. If your child does something helpful at home, please write me a little note, and I will read it to the class, and they will earn a star. Thank you for your help.
December 5th, is the Eve. of St. Nicholas Day! A time when the children put their shoes out side of their door before going to bed, and perhaps St. Nicholas will visit, filling the shoes with little candies and gifts. We will celebrate this in our classroom on that day, Friday. December 12th, is our Polar Express Day. The children may wear their p.j.’s to school and we will enjoy the story and have hot chocolate and cookies.
While you are busy shopping for your child, I thought maybe a few gift ideas would be helpful. The children love to create projects from construction paper using scissors, glue, glitter, markers, and crayons. Any of those art supplies would be great gift. They also love to play games. Board games and card games are wonderful to play and help develop counting skills, alphabet recognition, and attention span. What better way to have family fun together? And I can’t say more about good literature. Books and reading are so important, the best gift you could give.
May we wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!
