Sandusky Central Catholic athletics have a long and proud tradition of first rate competition in the Sandusky Bay Conference. The eight members of the Sandusky Bay Conference are the St. Mary Panthers, Clyde Fliers, Huron Tigers, Port Clinton Redmen, Oak Harbor Rockets, Edison Chargers, Margaretta Polar Bears, and Perkins PIrates. The SBC is one of Ohio's oldest and most storied high school athletic conferences and the Panthers have been members since 1950. The high school is also an official member of the OHSAA, Ohio's governing body for high school athletics. The sports mascot for SCCS is the panther and the official team colors are navy blue and vegas gold. The high school's sports facilities include The Den, two weight rooms, the Zierolf Field football facility, Strobel field for varsity football games and track meets, Dorn Park for baseball and softball, the Sandusky High School Natatorium for swimming and diving, Battery Park tennis courts, Woussickett golf course, our own wrestling room and a secondary gym and multi purpose room. Athletic Director Denny Faber heads up the sports programs at the high school, a position he has held for over 20 years. The Panthers field 9 boys Varsity sports and 7 girls Varsity sports, all with great success. Each of the Panthers' sports teams provide all students with the oppourtunity to display their talents and compete at the highest levels of high school athletics. |
